Michel Ries

Age 20
Height (cm) 184
Weight (kg) 67

Biography

At the age of 12 he started competing thanks to his cousin, Chantal Hoffmann (Lotto Soudal), who one day suggested him that he must go with the team to start competing. He started at UC Dippach, where many of the Luxembourg cyclists start and where the president, Henri, is the father of Bob Jungels.

His trainer and who has taught him the trade has always been Lucien Didier (father of Laurent), with whom he has been until arriving to the Alberto Contador Foundation.

So far, his best performance has been the Tour de l’Avenir, which qualifies as a great experience and where he finished 19th overall, which allowed him to see himself for the first time among the best in the world in his category.

Michel is a climber who especially likes long and hard climbs. The race with which he dreams is the Tour de France, but also the great classics, especially Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

This year has finished High School and has started Economics, but does not want to push too hard to be able to make it compatible with cycling.
